Ryan Gates, Team Principal“The core function of our eSports program is to cultivate driver talent from the world of eSports through our Driver Development partnership with GPX Lab utilizing their cutting-edge professional grade driving simulators. With PCA Sim Racing launching the Pro GT3 Cup series, which mirrors the Porsche Carrera Cup North America schedule, it created a link between virtual and reality that directly correlates to our PCCNA program.

“Equally important was our driver lineup – the correlation between virtual and reality had to be there as well. Both of our drivers have utilized sim racing as tools to improve their skill set in reality. Look at Dimitri during the Petit LeMans weekend last season – in his first PCCNA race he was right up on me in the Pro 992 field in a 991.2! He has a GPX Lab sim at home and competes regularly on iRacing. As for Laurin, Porsche’s latest Junior Driver and a part of the factory Porsche Esports team, he’s known as a “hybrid-racer” – competing and winning in both Carrera Cup Deutschland and Porsche Mobil1 Supercup alongside his eSports career.”

“It’s funny, when we were thinking about the idea of an eSports program last season, it was Laurin’s story during one of the Carrera Cup Deutschland broadcasts that confirmed our intent to join eSports. Today, I’m proud to say we are officially entering the world of eSports and feel well-positioned with the team of Dimitri, Laurin, & GPX.”

Dimitri Dimakos, Driver #11 311RS eMotorsport GT3 Cup“Following the first Carrera Cup North America season in 2021, and participating in its final event at the Petit LeMans, I made it a goal of mine to one day experience a full season with the series. Knowing many of it’s members prior to this year, 311RS Motorsport stood out to me as a family-oriented team with great potential and a strong desire for success, and I am honored to announce my participation with the team for this year’s 2022 PCA Sim Racing Pro GT3 Cup Series. Sim racing has played a large role in my development as a driver, and I feel this opportunity is the best way for me to pursue my racing goals.”

Laurin Heinrich, Driver #12 311RS eMotorsport GT3 Cup”Following the PCCNA in it’s inaugural season closely, 311RS Motorsport caught my attention from the first race on. Now I’m happy to be taking part for that exact same team in the virtual world. Racing in the US has always been a dream of myself, so it’s a massive achievement to connect real and virtual racing through this step together with 311RS.”
